Seating in the sanctuary has reached capacity and we are taking reservations for those who still want to attend, but will be seated in overflow and watch the event via close circuit televisions.

Contact the church if you want to attend and be seated in the fellowship hall.

Lee Strobel, the atheist-turned-Christian and former award-winning legal editor of The Chicago Tribune, will be speaking in Horseshoe Bay on Friday, February 2, and Saturday, February 3, 2024. Strobel is a New York Times best-selling author of more than forty books and curricula that have sold fourteen million copies in total. He currently serves as Founding Director of the Lee Strobel Center for Evangelism and Applied Apologetics at Colorado Christian University.

Two ecumenical groups, Men of Faith (MOF) and Women of the Word (WOW), are coordinating the event titled “Spiritual Journey: Why We Believe.” On Friday evening February 2, Strobel will speak about “Why We Believe the Gospels” followed by a question-and-answer session. Then on Saturday morning, Strobel will have two sessions including “Why We Believe the Resurrection” and “Why We Believe in Heaven.” Saturday’s schedule will also include question-and-answer time along with book sales and signings.

Lee Strobel has been described in the Washington Post as “one of the evangelical community’s most popular apologists.” He was educated at the University of Missouri (Bachelor of Journalism degree) and Yale Law School (Master of Studies in Law degree). He was a journalist for fourteen years at The Chicago Tribune and other newspapers, winning Illinois’ highest honors for both investigative reporting and public service journalism from United Press International.

After probing the evidence for Jesus for nearly two years, Strobel became a Christian in 1981. He subsequently became a teaching pastor at three of America’s largest churches and hosted the weekly national network TV program Faith Under Fire. In addition, he taught First Amendment law at Roosevelt University and was Professor of Christian Thought at Houston Baptist University.

Tickets for the February 2 and 3 event are on sale now.
