Upcoming WOW Committee events: The WOW committee invites you to attend the WOW Spring Luncheon which will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Horseshoe Bay Yacht Club. The featured speaker will be Karen Anderson from Houston, Texas. Karen is the author of two books, Behold the Gift…the Blessings of Bethlehem and Love Lifts… through the generations. Karen frequently speaks to groups regarding the joys of sharing God’s love throughout the moments of our lives. The theme for this year is HOPE, so please come join us as we joyfully witness how our amazing God equips ordinary people for His extraordinary purposes. Come celebrate Hope through this inspirational speaker. We are also excited and blessed to have musical entertainment provided by Martha Logan on the flute, accompanied by Mary Agnes Rudd on piano, along with Leslie Ann Detrick (daughter of G. A. and Rita Smith, members of our congregation) as soloist. The WOW Committee meets at 1 p.m. in the Church Parlor on the second Tuesday of every month (except April and there will be no meeting in August) and all Women of the Church are welcome to attend. The Mission of the "Women of the Word" ministry of the Church at Horseshoe Bay is: to glorify God by encouraging women in the Lord and reaching out with the love of God. We seek to equip our women through projects of Christian education and spiritual renewal, outreach and benevolent ministries, and fellowship with one another. The WOW Committee coordinates and plans all of the activities and projects of this Ministry. These include such things as benevolent projects, luncheons, retreats, and special entertainment or speaker engagements. This Ministry intends to grow in scope in the future. Any woman of The Church at Horseshoe Bay who is interested in joining the WOW Committee is welcome to do so by contacting any Committee member or by just coming to any scheduled meeting shown on the WOW calendar of events.
