Senior PastorRev. Peter K. Christy

Pete Christy joined the staff of The Church at Horseshoe Bay October 2001 as Associate Pastor after serving as a chaplain in the United States Army for 29 years. His experiences include serving in a variety of pastoral and educational roles. Prior to becoming a chaplain, Rev. Christy served as minister of the Northeast Philadelphia Church of Christ in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and as an instructor of religion at the Northeastern Christian Junior College in Villanova, Pennsylvania. He holds graduate degrees from Harding University, Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the California Family Study Center. Pastor Christy became Senior Pastor in 2005 and in May 2008 received his doctorate degree at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin, Texas.
PastorRev. Johnny White
Johnny accepted the call from The Church at Horseshoe Bay in September 2005. After receiving his BS degree, Johnny worked for the Jackson (MS) Youth for Christ for three years as a (high school and college) Campus Life Ministry Coordinator. In late 1976 he was ordained to the Gospel Ministry and spent three years as Minister of Education and Associate Pastor at the First Baptist Church in Godley, Texas, with a focus on all education programs. Johnny then spent the next 26 years at Trinity Baptist Church, San Antonio.Rev. White holds a B.S. in Communications from the Univ. of Southern Mississippi, a Masters in Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, an M.A. in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is currently a candidate for Doctor of Ministry Spiritual Leadership from Beeson Divinity School.

Minister of MusicLarry Sherwood

Larry Sherwood became the church’s Minister of Music in 2006 after teaching public school at all levels and administering music ministries in large Southern Baptist and United Methodist churches in Texas, Florida, and Virginia. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Baylor University and completed many hours of postgraduate courses. His school and church ensembles have consistently won numerous awards and commendations. He also directs the Highland Lakes Men’s Chorus.
